A retro, record-inspired wedding at industry
Complete with boho vibes, a burger bar, and breadsticks.
The moral of the story: We can all only hope to be as cool as andria and sam!
It was such an honor planning this groovy couple’s special day. We spent over a year and a half together, and I treasured every one of our meetings at the mocha nut café.
When we first started planning, the couple let me know that they envisioned a day that personified their laid-back, old-school personas…with a touch of class. They also wanted to pay homage to their favorite pastimes, listening to good music and attending concerts.
with this in mind, Sam’s massive record collection became the leading inspiration for the overall design. And with it, the bohemian essence of the late 1960’s.
The hints of amber/copper, pampas grass, and macrame would have made any flower child proud.
I also spent time scouring local thrift & antique stores to find some vintage pieces to add to the day. Like an old record storage box, that served as the perfect card box.
The event took place at the downtown Indianapolis venue, Industry. This industrial venue (complete with macrame swings!!) served as the perfect backdrop for the couple’s special day.
Guests were treated to specialty cocktails, a retro trailer photobooth, a burger bar, and kilroy’s breadsticks.
I mean, could it get any better?!…Oh yes, it can!
In true andria and sam fashion, the day ended with an impromptu photoshoot with a baby blue vintage cadillac. (Kudos to the kind gentleman who pulled over and let the couple borrow his car!)
I always tell my couples that my job is to help them plan a day that defines their story and style.
