Rachel & Nick

Vintage, Romantic, Fall Wedding

…inspired by a harvest moon

Bride, Rachel, inquired about my design services at the start of 2023. She let me know that she is a planner by nature, but was struggling with piecing together her design vision for the big day.

She had amazing ideas and a great understanding of what she liked, but desired some outside perspective and someone whom she could bounce ideas off of.

I am so honored that I got to be that person!

After an initial design consultation I crafted a detailed mood board for the sweet bride. We then met again and chatted through what she liked about initial mood board and what items she wanted to change. In her case, she envisioned a palette a bit less “feminine” and accents that leaned more vintage than modern.

I re-imagined the mood board and then got to work creating a sourcing list.

I love mood boards, but at times they seem a bit elusive. We can all look at pretty photos that capture a “vibe,” but being able to create that vibe on your own (and within a budget) is where the challenge lies.

with my design service I basically create a shopping list for my clients! I price compare, search for the best options, and provide a detailed list including links and item totals.

Rachel desired lots of taper candles and brass candlesticks…which are getting harder and harder to find and are also pretty pricey. I searched for other alternatives and found a local bride who was renting out the massive stock of brass candle sticks that she collected for her own wedding (SCORE!). Rachel then came up with the brilliant idea of using vintage glass votive holders with pegs instead of the traditional taper candles with chimneys. So much more economical and completely fit the vibe! I think we will see more of this look in 2024, as small table lamps have become a popular option for tablescape lighting.

I designed and crafted all the Signage and Paper goods, including the menu cards…which I was absolutely obsessed with!

The florist, the groom’s-aunt, nailed the florals! They were stunning and incorporated the 2024 pantone color of the year “Peach Fuzz.”

Rachel and I chatted through many different options for the ceremony setup, but in the end she was inspired by some FB marketplace finds and a gorgeous wood arch crafted by a family member.

All this to say, that ideas may change from the original mood board and that is a-okay! the benefit of utilizing my design and Styling service is I provide my clients with the opportunity to organize their design thoughts and get back on track! I sort through their Pinterest photos, identify their exact color palette, and encourage them to think outside the box…all while guiding them towards a cohesive design. I want my clients to look back at detail photos from their big day and think “wow, this was so us.”
