Indianapolis Conservatory at Evergreen Wedding | Sydney & Colin

Weddings

Sydney and Colin’s Conservatory at Evergreen wedding was the perfect blend of modern design, meaningful personal touches, and joyful celebration. Set on a warm June afternoon in Indianapolis, their wedding day embraced the natural beauty of the Conservatory at Evergreen while highlighting a clean, minimalist aesthetic that felt effortlessly elegant.

From the beginning of the planning process, it was such a joy getting to know Sydney and her sweet mom, Peggy. Working together to coordinate and design this Conservatory at Evergreen wedding, we focused on creating a day that felt intentional, modern, and deeply personal to the couple. Every element — from thoughtful design details to moments shared with family and friends — reflected Sydney and Colin’s vision for a celebration that felt both sophisticated and fun.

A Warm Summer Ceremony at the Conservatory at Evergreen

Sydney and Colin were married outdoors beside the beautiful water at the Conservatory at Evergreen. Despite the summer heat, the ceremony space felt serene and picturesque, surrounded by lush greenery and a peaceful natural setting.

Guests were welcomed to rows of dark wood ceremony chairs that lined the aisle, leading to a stunning floral arch filled with soft white blooms and greenery. The floral installation, designed by Custom Blooms, created a romantic focal point for the ceremony and beautifully framed the couple as they exchanged vows.

One of the most memorable (and adorable) moments of the day was the inclusion of the couple’s beloved dog, Archie. His appearance added an extra layer of personality and joy to the ceremony, making the moment even more special for Sydney and Colin.

A Modern Wedding Design with Personal Details

Sydney and Colin envisioned a wedding day that felt clean, modern, and purposeful — and every design element reflected that vision.

A subtle but meaningful detail woven throughout the day was the couple’s initials, which appeared across several design pieces and décor elements. These thoughtful details helped tie the overall aesthetic together while adding a personal touch to the celebration.

The welcome sign — which I designed to later be repurposed as the seating chart — became one of the standout design features of the day. Not only did it greet guests upon arrival, but it also served a functional purpose later in the evening, seamlessly blending style with practicality.

Inside the Conservatory at Evergreen, the reception design embraced a timeless black-and-white palette. White linens, sleek black napkins, modern table numbers, and simple yet elegant floral arrangements created a look that felt fresh and sophisticated within the glass-filled venue.

The natural light pouring through the Conservatory’s glass walls made every detail shine, enhancing the modern aesthetic while maintaining the venue’s connection to the surrounding landscape.

Repurposing Ceremony Florals for the Reception

One of the most stunning design moments of the evening came from repurposing the ceremony floral arch.

After the ceremony concluded, the beautiful floral installation by Custom Blooms was moved behind the head table to serve as a dramatic reception backdrop. This transformation allowed the statement piece to be enjoyed throughout the evening and created a breathtaking focal point for the couple during dinner and toasts.

It was the perfect example of thoughtful design planning that allowed the décor to work harder while still maintaining a cohesive look throughout the entire Conservatory at Evergreen wedding.

Cocktail Hour Fun & Late-Night Treats

Cocktail hour offered guests the chance to enjoy the beautiful grounds of the Conservatory at Evergreen while spending time with family and friends. Sydney and Colin added a playful element by including a custom cornhole game, which quickly became a hit among guests.

The couple also had a large wedding party filled with supportive and energetic friends and family, which helped create a lively and celebratory atmosphere throughout the day.

As the evening continued, guests were treated to a fun late-night snack — soft pretzels — which provided the perfect savory treat after hours on the dance floor.

A Joyful Celebration for a Truly Sweet Couple

Sydney and Colin’s wedding day was a wonderful reflection of who they are as a couple: warm, thoughtful, and full of joy.

From the moment guests arrived to the final moments of the evening, their Conservatory at Evergreen wedding felt intentional, stylish, and full of love. It was such a pleasure coordinating and designing this beautiful celebration and getting to know Sydney and Peggy throughout the planning process.

Watching everything come together for such a sweet couple made the day even more meaningful.
