Lauren & Antonio
Romantic, Dark Purple, Brunch Wedding
…in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis.
November 11, 2023
After securing their venues, Lauren & Antonio found themselves in need of a wedding planner to finalize the remaining details of their special day. Not originally from Indianapolis, the couple knew that securing the services of a local planner would ensure they’d be introduced to ideal vendors and guaranteed they would be able to provide their out-of-town guests (nearly their entire guest list) with the resources needed to feel at home in an unfamiliar city.
I am honored that this fun-loving couple chose me to to fill the role of their wedding planner!
Throughout our initial consultation and first meetings, the couple described to me their dream day. They envisioned an elegant event that made every single one of their guests feel like royalty.
Their top priorities included; photography, florals, and menu.
We immediately got to work securing vendors whose style fit their vision & needs. Seeing as the couple chose a very popular date, 11/11, I wanted to get their prime vendors booked as soon as possible.
After hiring their vendor dream team, we started solidifying the design aspects for their big day.
The couple chose to incorporate shades of deep purple and gold. These colors combined with their attire choices (hello, extra long train!!) certainly made it feel like you were attending a royal wedding.
Florals, provided by the talented Adventure florals, included; arrangements set upon towering gold Harlow stands, bud vase accents, and lush floral swags set upon a large gold hoop that was used to frame an elaborate sweetheart table.
In keeping with the “royal” theme, the couple also rented a vintage Rolls Royce to transport them from the church to the venue and to serve as the perfect backdrop for photos.
Tables were set with rented gold silverware, gold chargers, eggplant napkins, and gold chivari chairs. personalized items, including drink stirrers and cocktail napkins, were added to the bars.
for the menu, Guests were treated to a plated meal and were able to enjoy either a lunch or breakfast option… In true brunch fashion! and seeing as no brunch is complete without a mimosa or coffee…or both…there was an entrance bar dedicated to providing guests with both beverages.
The Passed hors d'oeuvres, though, were the true menu standouts, as they included mini pancake stacks, mini chicken and waffles, and French toast sticks. It was so fun working with the wonderful Conrad Catering to create this tailored menu!
For dessert, cheesecake shooters from The Cheesecake Lady were set out for guests to grab before hitting the dance floor.
And to ensure no one left hungry, pizza slices in themed to-go boxes were available for guests to snag on their way out.
Brunch weddings are not for every couple, as days begin very early (my alarm went off at 2:55am)… but For lauren and Antonio, they loved the idea of an early catholic mass ceremony (they are morning people) immediately followed by a reception. This timeline also allowed for fun after party plans and the opportunity to show their out-of-town guests a bit of downtown indy’s night life.
The whole day was such a fun change of pace! I would definitely recommend a brunch wedding to any couple looking to host a classy and memorable event!
